Hope, Opportunity and Control in Recovering Mental Well-Being

“Everyone has the right to well-being, to feeling positive about today and feeling hopeful for tomorrow” is the first line in the fantastic Spring 2013 Recovery Education Centre’s Prospectus. If you have had a time when life has felt out of control and empty of opportunity, then you will understand how beneficial getting effective support can be.

The Recovery Education Centre offers a wide range of FREE courses to help you understand your experiences; manage your own Recovery, and how to support someone else with their journey. All the courses have been co-designed by a Peer Specialist, who has lived experience of a mental ill-health condition, and a qualified mental health professional.

This is not therapy or clinical intervention, but a way to learn how to take care of yourself and others more effectively, with practical and realistic concepts.

Topics include Recovery and Well-being for Older People, 5 Steps to Wellbeing, Coping in a Crisis, Emotion Management, Working Matters and many more. The courses are run on a variety of dates across Dorset. Details are available from the Dorset Mental Health Forum www.dorsetmentalhealthforum.org.uk
