Help Young Enterprise Resolve The Future of the Olympic Village

With only 36 days to go until the games start, Young Enterprise are inviting young people to come together for an enterprise challenge to consider entrepreneurial uses of the Olympic village once the athletes have gone. We need your help please?

There will be approximately 100 young people from year 12 taking part in the challenge at Weymouth College on Thursday 28th June between 8:30 – 2:30pm. If you can spare the day, or even a proportion of it  we would really appreciate your help. Students will work in small ‘companies’ to come up with a proposal for how the Olympic village can leave a lasting, and profitable legacy. Volunteers are needed to talk to students about their plans, advise them in their company roles and team work.

The purpose of the day is to:

  • to encourage the pupils to consider self employment and develop entreprenrial capaibilities.
  • for pupils to understand more about a specific industry they are interested and be able to apply their new knowledge in a practical way
  • to encourage the pupils to work as part of a small company
  • to be enjoyable!

It will be a fantastic day but we need about 4 more volunteers to help. If you would like to share your experience and skills, then please contact Hannah Towner immediately. hannah.towner@yesw.org.uk
