Being assertive is a key skill for anyone, whether at work or in our personal lives. Many managers tell us that the job is easy; it is people that make it difficult. The skills we need to manage people are very different to those required to manage processes and machines. Despite being called the ‘soft’ skills, dealing with emotions, behaviours and attitudes can be hard, whether they are your own or others. There is often a misunderstanding of what being assertive means and mental barriers are built that stop us achieving this.
Challenges can occur when dealing with other people and sometimes this can have a traumatic mental impact. When you have a greater understanding of why people behave the way they do; including yourself; and have techniques to get to a win-win, you can gain the results you need. If relationships are built on conversations, then you need to communicate effectively in any situation. Using a variety of techniques, you can create greater rapport and trust in your team.
This FREE one-hour workshop will enable you to improve your assertiveness. It involves practical and interactive discussion to increase self-awareness, thereby allowing you to have more satisfactory interactions and relationships with others. It can also help bring about the changes you want to make.
OUTCOMES
- Understand assertiveness and the skills required.
- Actions to improve your assertive behaviour.
Previous delegates feedback:
