Congratulations to Paul Turner, one of our active and supportive Brain Cells for winning a silver medal at this year’s Mind Sport Olympiad in London on August 24th
Mind Sport Olympiad ran their very first International Kings Cribbage board game event this year, which ended with Sam Smith from the Channel Islands being crowned as the best KC player in the competition with Paul Turner as runner up. The tournament was hosted at the University of London Union, Malet Street London WC1
Fourteen competitive KC players from America, the Channel Islands, Estonia, Hong Kong, Spain and the UK played singles against each other. Each adversary was given 20 minutes to play over a series of 4 games, the winners ending with the highest overall points took home the titles and medals.
Paul has been providing training and taster sessions to a variety of organisations in Dorset as part of the Mind Your Head Challenge and is starting a series in The Verne Prison, Portland. He has helped promote the Challenge, attended meetings, visited other Brain Cells; and put forward ideas as to how to progress in the future. It is this kind of support that will make the Mind Your Head Challenge successful for all parties.
